After working as a graphic designer for the phonebook, I knew I had a higher calling. I wanted to hear the stories behind the entrepreneurs I was working with. I wanted to know their WHY, what got them excited, and what drove them to start a business to begin with. I wanted to create something that felt like THEM and their mission, not just whatever we could pull together quickly.
When AJ and I decided to start a family, I quit my full-time job at 6.5 months pregnant to start Worx & Co in 2007. This was not the most ideal time in our economic history to start a business – I suppose ignorance is bliss. AJ lost his job as an architectural draftsman and we quickly realized just how fast life can change. He became a stay at home father and I pushed forward with Worx.
Today, we combine our extensive background in branding and architecture to create cohesive brand identity systems and branded environments for growing small businesses. We’re living proof that if you stay true to who you are, follow your intuition, and do things that make you insanely excited, anything is possible.
